Hindustan International School – Felicitation of Miss C A Bhavani Devi (India’s First Fencer to qualify for the Olympic Games in Tokyo)

With the aim to acknowledge and inspire the sporting talents among Students in Hindustan International Schools at the Regional, National and International Levels, the Director & CEO of Hindustan Group of Institutions, Dr Anand Jacob Verghese initiated the Felicitation Ceremony of Ms C A Bhavani Devi, our National and soon, International Fencing Champion.
The Felicitation Ceremony was organized in the School campus at HIS, Guindy on 26-03-2021 to honor and appreciate the achievements of Ms Bhavani Devi.

Ms Bhavani Devi snapped up her Ninth Title in the 31st Senior National Fencing Championship and is India’s First Fencer to qualify for the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

Mr Ashok Verghese, Director of Hindustan Group Of Institutions, welcomed and felicitated Ms C A Bhavani Devi.

Hindustan has been the Torch Bearer to promote and encourage unconventional sport like, horse riding, snooker, pickleball, judo, motorsport, archery and many other, way back since the 90’s and takes immense pride and pleasure to encourage yet another unconventional sport such as “Fencing”. Hindustan takes the opportunity to extend its Support and applaud the laurels achieved by Ms Bhavani Devi, and wishes her all the very best in the forthcoming Tokyo Olympics.
